Description

Corning® Matrigel® matrix is a natural extracellular matrix-based basement membrane that reconstitutes the basement membrane in vitro, allowing researchers to mimic the physiological environment in two- and three-dimensional cell culture applications. The major components of Corning® Matrigel® matrix include heparan sulfate proteoglycan, entactin (~8%), collagen IV (~30%), and laminin (~60%), and can contain other growth factors, plasminogen activators, collagenases, and undefined components.

Corning® Matrigel® basement membrane matrix has been used in a variety of cell culture applications, including cell growth and differentiation in stem cell culture, cell attachment, tumor growth, metabolism and toxicology studies, in vitro and in vivo angiogenesis assays, invasion assays, and tissue engineering.
