This plate combines the advantages of thin-walled polypropylene wells for maximum heat transferal with a rigid polycarbonate frame to increase the thermal stability of the plate during the PCR process.
The polypropylene wells are the perfect material for PCR, as they are both inert and non-wetting, meaning RNA, DNA and enzymes cannot bind, and the polycarbonate frame eliminates warping due to its thermal stability, meaning that seal the remains unbroken, preventing sample evaporation.
This plate is also a Low Profile plate, meaning it has 0.1ml volume wells, as opposed to the standard 0.2ml. This volume reduces the “dead space” between well and thermal block, in turn reducing condensation forming on the side walls of the tubes, preventing a reduction in PCR volume and increasing the efficiency of the reaction. Low Profile products are especially recommended for use with reaction volumes below 20 µl.
