TSKgel HILIC columns
TSKgel Amide-80 and TSKgel NH2-100 HILIC columns from Tosoh Bioscience are first class columns when it comes to separations of hydrophilic compounds like peptides, carbohydrates, polar natural substances, amino acids, oligonucleotides, organic polar acids and bases, even proteins.
Great results, column was used successfully for the separation of polar compounds.
Analysis of peptides
The HILIC TSKgel HPLC column is commonly used in peptide analysis and is known to provide good results in separating hydrophobic peptides. The column is relatively easy to use and can help improve peptide separation efficiency. However, it is important to note that the optimal conditions for peptide separation may vary depending on different sample matrices and experimental settings.

HILIC combines the advantages of the Normal Phase with those of the Reversed Phase Chromatography, without having to forego the common RP eluents like acetonitrile and water. In comparison to RP chromatography the elution sequence is reversed for the most part of substances. This fact drives HILIC to be a very useful technique complementary to RP.
TSKgel Amide-80 series is the industrial standard for the separation of glycans by HILIC or HILIC-MS. TSKgel Amide-80 material is available as 3 µm, 5 µm or 10 µm spherical silica particles (average pore size 80 Å), modified with covalently bounded carbamoyl groups. The stability of the TSKgel Amide-80 allows use with an ELS-Detector (Evaporative Light Scattering-Detector) and is perfectly suited for LC/MS applications.
TSKgel Amide-80 Features & Benefits:
- TSKgel Amide-80 bonded phase does not react with reducing sugars (unlike amino columns).
- Can be used with evaporative light scattering (ELS) and mass spec (MS) detectors.
- Max. operating temperature: 80°C (59°C for 3 µm).
- Retain polar drug candidates and drug metabolites.
- Handles a wide spectrum of sample polarities.
- Separates many different types of polar molecules.
- TSKgel NH2-100 material is available as 3µm particles. It expands the selectivity range of
- TSKgel HILIC solutions.
The TSKgel NH2-100 phase is well suited for all separations requiring amino functional groups. In contrast to many other amino phases the new column offers expanded stability under HILIC conditions, the prerequisite for high reproducibility and reliable results.
TSKgel NH2-100 Features:
- TSKgel NH2-100 are more stable than conventional amino phases duee to a special endcapping prior to introduction of aminoalkyl groups.
- Can be used with evaporative light scattering (ELS) and mass spec (MS) detectors.
- Retain polar drug candidates and drug metabolites
- Handles a wide spectrum of sample polarities.
- Separates many different types of polar molecules.

TOYOPEARL and TSKgel instruction manual
Tosoh Bioscience offers two base beads TOYOPEARL® and TSKgel. TOYOPEARL and TSKgel products are hydroxylated methacrylic polymer resins and are available in many different pore sizes and particle diameters. The key differences between the two types are particle size availability, degree of crosslinking, dynamic binding capacity, and operating pressures. To fully utilize the TOYOPEARL and TSKgel and provide the best care, explore the packing procedures, column operation, storage and cleaning manual.
