The instrument is precise and very flexible to different assays. It requires low maintenance and it auto calibrates. Perhaps, the most interesting aspect is its modularity, which means it is possible to purchase only the modules needed for the lab activity and upgrade it afterward if necessary. The only downsides are the software build-in data analysis, which is not very flexible, and the possibility to export data only in excel or print them.

This is a versatile instrument that can be used across a wide variety of applications as a multi-mode microplate reader for UV/Vis, Fluorescence and Phosphorescence. It really offers unlimited wavelength selection, up to three onboard dispensers and excellent optical performance. I am a single-time user of this instrument and very much impressed with its exceptional performance. Though, we opted for a different brand of microplate reader due to its heavy pricing, I am still a fan of Varioskan.
