Handy, versatile, great value.
Sterile handling environment
Great little laminar flow hood. Top heavy, but comes apart to move. Filter replacement is not difficult. Great value for the price (a few thousand). I wish I had one with a closeable sash.

Great compact option for a reasonable price.
Microbiology/PCR
No issues with contamination - the cabinet functions as it should. The size is right, easy to use and easy to maintain. Reasonably priced - though, the only negative is a crack in the acrylic siding near one of the mounting screws. It has never been adjusted, taken apart, cleaned with corrosive or inappropriate agents...the crack simply appeared after about 9 months of use.

Easy to use, great value
Plating micro samples, propagating yeast
I use the Purair Laminar FLOW hood to plate out micro samples taken at different steps in the brewing process. The hood was easy to set up and is extremely user friendly.

Purair® FLOW series laminar flow hoods are designed to protect the work surface, products and materials from particulate contamination. Room air passes through a HEPA filter then uniformly by laminar flow through the cabinet interior to protect the work from unfiltered air. The airflow is oriented to exhaust airborne particulate introduced by the user. Vertical laminar airflow with HEPA/ULPA filtration protects materials inside the cabinet from particulates.
- High airflow capacity.
- Configurable with a broad range of options customized to your specific application.
- Easy-to-change filters.
- Available in 2', 3' and 4' widths.
The Use of Colorimetric Tubes to Determine Filter Saturation
Carbon filter monitoring is essential to maintain the safety of personnel using fume hoods on a daily basis. Testing filtered air with colorimetric tubes is an inexpensive and effective method for laboratory personnel to monitor the level of filter saturation in real time. This application note presents Purair advanced fume hoods, with an inter-filter test port specifically designed for sampling tubes.
Horizontal or Vertical Laminar Flow: Which is Best for Your Application?
Air Science® manufactures highly efficient laminar flow hoods that protect equipment and other contents of the work zone from particulates. These products presented in this application note are ideally suited for use with non-hazardous contaminants and when flexible access to the equipment in the work zone is desired. But which is best for your application?
Purair Ductless Technology and USP 800 Compliance Creating a better C-PEC
This paper discusses the design and construction features of a set of engineering controls, collectively known as containment primary engineering controls (C-PECs), for hazardous drugs in healthcare settings. Biological safety cabinets and fume hoods in particular will be examined to identify the features that most effectively prevent exposure and meet USP 800 requirements.
