The Waters® MV-10 ASFE™ System is the first supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) system offering accelerated, multi-vessel sample extraction, resulting in a faster, greener, more selective alternative for analyte extractions from a wide variety of sample matrices.
Whether your workflow requires enriching target analytes for analytical purposes, stripping unwanted material from a product, or collecting valuable essential oils from natural products, the MV-10 ASFE System is the most efficient extraction tool available. This system allows you to:
• Extract samples from up to 10 extraction vessels in a semi-automated fashion
• Accelerate throughput
• Lower operating costs compared to traditional hydrocarbon-based solvent extraction systems.
• Use a green alternative to normal phase solvents, supercritical CO2, which is non-toxic, non-flammable, and environmentally compatible.
System features:
• Uses environmentally friendly CO2 instead of toxic organic solvents
• Improved extraction efficiency
• Better selectivity
• Increased speed
• Higher yield
• Reduced operating costs
• ChromScope™ Software makes routine analysis, reporting, and fraction collection easy with an intuitive user-friendly interface
Using Isocratic Preparative Liquid Chromatography as a Quick First-Step Purification for Natural Product Isolation
This application note describes a workflow to systematically develop isocratic prep LC methods for target compound isolation from natural product mixtures. Eriocitrin, a polar compound found in peppermint extract, is used as a model to demonstrate the isolation and purification workflow.
Systematically Optimizing Extraction
This application describes the MV-10 ASFE System with ChromScope Software which makes analytical scale method development by SFE easy and productive. In this example, three
process variables across multiple vessel extractions were evaluated including
extraction time, temperature, and pressure in an automated manner.
Streamlining Current Approaches for Extractable Analysis Utilizing Waters MV-10 ASFE and ACQUITY UPC2 Systems
This application note describes the extraction and screening of four different types of packaging material for 14 common polymer additives. Results demonstrate that supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) offers greater flexibility than microwave extraction. It is also shown that SFE represents a substantial saving in solvent consumption and run time compared to Soxhlet extraction.
Extraction of Fat from Animal Feed Products Using a Waters MV-10 ASFE
In this application note, the Waters® MV-10 ASFE™ System is used for the extraction of fat from a variety of animal feed products. The results are compared to those obtained using an accelerated solvent extraction methodology and the prospect for adopting superficial fluid extraction for routine fat analysis is discussed.
