Description

Molzym’s ultra-pure Taq DNA polymerases are highly active and enable ultra-sensitive and reliable PCR-results. MolTaq 16S/18S and Hot MolTaq 16S/18S are especially suited for the PCR/Real-Time PCR analysis of femtogram amounts of bacterial and fungal DNA. Hot MolTaq 16S/18S reduces unspecific amplification and allows the convenient PCR setup at ambient temperature and does not require an extra activation step.

Selective Enrichment of Bacterial and Fungal DNA

MolYsis™ is a tool for the removal of human DNA and enrichment of bacteria and fungi from liquid samples. Technically, in a short series of steps, MolYsis™ effects the selective lysis of blood cells and the quantitative degradation (>99%) of released human DNA. After enrichment from the lysate by centrifugation, microorganisms are treated with a reagent degrading cell walls of Grampositive and Gram-negative bacteria and fungi. The broad range lysis potential has been shown in clinical evaluations, including over 200 genera of bacteria (86 Grampositives, 120 Gram-negatives) and 65 genera of fungi.

Hot MolTaq 16S/18S: DNA-Free PCR Reagents

A common drawback of PCR assays for bacterial and fungal sequences is the contamination of amplification reagents by microbial DNA. As a consequence, false-positive results may arise often also associated with a loss of analytical sensitivity. Molzym‘s Mastermix 16S/18S products are guaranteed free of contaminating bacterial and fungal DNA. This provides accurate results also at low target loads.
