Discovery and therapeutic development of α-LGR5-ADC in an academic setting

Translating an academic antibody discovery program into a potential clinical therapy requires a combination of scientific validation, strategic decision-making, and effective collaboration.
In this SelectScience® webinar, Dr. Marc de la Roche, Assistant Professor & Research Group Leader at the University of Cambridge, will trace the development of an antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) targeting LGR5, from the initial generation of a therapeutic antibody through to the creation of a spin-out company preparing the program for clinical translation.
Dr. de la Roche will discuss the development and humanization of the α-LGR5 antibody, subsequent scFv generation, and the experimental evidence supporting LGR5 as a therapeutic target. He will also explore why CRC was selected as the lead indication and how the rapid internalization of LGR5, together with access to advanced drug-conjugation technology through collaborators, supported the decision to pursue an ADC-based therapeutic strategy.
