MC-Media Pad® convenient culture media is used for rapid routine testing of microbial contamination in food and beverage samples throughout production, from raw materials, to finished products. They are based on chromogenic substances included in a media layer to give faster results while reducing the need for time-consuming agar media preparation time. Simply pipette 1 mL of sample to the center of the pad—it diffuses automatically, eliminating the need for spreaders. Then incubate and count your results. The tests are compliant to international standards and provide accurate results, even with difficult to test matrices such as cheese products, dehydrated products like dried soup, or high sugar and acidic products like cola. Recent studies have shown that MC-Media Pad® is also suitable for hygiene monitoring applications including passive air monitoring, personnel and surface monitoring. In addition to streamlining the microbiology testing workflow, they save space in the incubator and fridge and waste bins. Up to 20 pads can be stacked. The long shelf-life of up to 36 months can improve inventory management.
How to use MC-Media Pad<sup>®</sup>
The MC-Media Pad® is designed for convenient and rapid routine testing of microbial contaminations in your food and beverage products. The pads are coated with a growth medium and chromogenic substrates for specific detection allowing faster results and improved readout. When the sample is applied, the liquid spreads evenly on the pad by capillary action. No additional working steps are required, improving the workflow and reducing the risk of contamination. The transparent cover film can be easily opened and closed with one hand, and the color coding ensures that you can always pick the right one at a glance. MC-Media Pads® comply with international standards (AOAC, MicroVal) and are quality controlled with strain selection according to ISO 11133.
