In June 2018, the "Peter Huber Prize" of the Valerius Füner Foundation was awarded at the ACHEMA Conference. As the best graduates from the years 2016 and 2017, the winners this year are Joseph Michel and Florian Theobald. Michel received the award for his Masters thesis on the optimization and simulation of combined heat and power plants. Theobald was honored for his work developing new models to more accurately calculate the heat transfer. In future, the development of temperature control units could benefit from this basic research.

In 2015 partnership with the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, Peter Huber Kaltemaschinenbau AG introduced the "Peter Huber Prize" to recognize and award the achievements of students studying mechanical engineering with a focus on energy efficiency in refrigeration, air conditioning and environmental technology. The award comes together with a €1,000 donation.
