OHAUS Corporation has announced a strategic integration with BIOTIX™. By bringing BIOTIX pipette tip engineering under the OHAUS banner, the company now offers an end-to-end workflow.

The new OHAUS BIOTIX portfolio introduces a comprehensive range of manual pipettes, premium pipettes tips, and automation tips (volumes from 2 µL to 1250 µL). These products are engineered with four industry-leading, patented technologies designed to eliminate mechanical and environmental variables:

  • FlexFit®: A proximal end design that creates a secure seal, reducing attachment force by up to 80% compared to traditional rigid tips.
  • Blade®: An optimized distal tip orifice that minimizes surface tension, ensuring 100% sample recovery by eliminating hanging droplets.
  • StarStop®: Positive stop technology works with LTS-style pipettes to create a strong seal in the same location and to ensure precise liquid measurement, every time.
  • X-Resin®: A proprietary low-retention resin that ensures maximum sample recovery without the risk of leaching or contamination.

All OHAUS BIOTIX tips are manufactured in an ISO-9001 controlled environment and are certified free of RNase, DNase, pyrogens, and PCR inhibitors, ensuring the integrity of sensitive applications such as NGS and qPCR.

The integration also addresses the growing importance of sustainability:

  • The Tip Eject reload system offers 100% recyclable packaging, reducing plastic waste by 30% when compared to racked tips.
  • Rack base is reusable as a large volume, SBS-footprint1 reagent reservoir.
