Product news

At Progen Scientific Limited we are continuing to expand our range of equipment suitable for clinical laboratories all with our usual values of high quality but with sensible pricing.

With room for the 2 slides the machine is simplicity itself to operate with start and stop controlled by closing and opening the lid. Operating at a fixed rate of 4800 rpm the C1303 dries the slide in rapid time.

The latest addition is Labnet Spectrafuge 6C Clinical Laboratory Centrifuge for 5ml, 7ml, 10ml and 15ml tubes which The has been designed for quick production of PPP (platelet poor plasma) and PRP (platelet rich plasma) as well as other applications in the clinical and research laboratory.

The Spectrafuge 6C boasts a impressive range of features which includes:

The removable rotor of the Spectrafuge 6C accepts 6 x 15ml. tubes and with the adaptors will accommodate all common blood draw tubes. The variable speed allows for a variety of applications to be performed. The timer controls operation from 30 seconds to 30 minutes. Continuous time can be set from the ‘On’ position. In addition the control panel features easy to turn knobs and large digital displays for time and speed. During operation the centrifuge lid is locked. Once the rotor has come to a stop, both the time and speed displays flash ‘00’ to signify that the run has been completed.

To assist the modern laboratory the small footprint allows the Spectrafuge 6C to fit on even the most crowded bench and the rugged construction will provide years of trouble free operation. The centrifuge can be operated on the bench or in a cold room.

CentrifugesCentrifuges are used to separate particulates suspended in a liquid via the application of a centrifugal force including cells, macromolecules, nanoparticles and precipitates. Centrifuges come in three sizes: microcentrifuges, benchtop and floor-standing centrifuges, depending on the volume and number of samples that require separation. When choosing a centrifuge, consider its maximum separation power indicated by its relative centrifugal force (RCF) value. Low force centrifuges reach a maximum RCF of 8,000 g, high-force centrifuges can reach maximum RCF values of 80,000 g. For extremely high forces, consider ultracentrifuges (up to 800,000 g). Refrigerated and vacuum centrifuges also known as concentrators are available for more specialized applications. A range of volumes are available for centrifuge tubes and microfuge tubes, depending on sample sizes.
