Bettersize helps optimize drug formulations and research at AAPS 2026 PharmSCi 360

Bettersize is showcasing its solutions under a campaign highlighting complete particle morphological data

28 Oct 2026

At the AAPS 2026 PharmSci 360 conference in New Orleans,, Bettersize Instruments is exhibiting at Booth 1328. Running from October 25–28, the company's showcase is centered around their campaign, ‘When D50 Alone Isn't Enough’, emphasizing how comprehensive particle shape, morphology, and stability data are vital alongside basic sizing.

Bettersize is showcasing three of its primary particle characterization technologies:

  • BeNano 180 Zeta Max: Designed for nanoformulations and protein stability analysis, this system uses dynamic light scattering (DLS) at dual angles (173° backscatter and 90°) alongside phase analysis light scattering (PALS). It measures nanoparticle size, molecular weight, and zeta potential from sample volumes as small as 3 μL, identifying stability or aggregation risks early on.
  • Bettersizer 2600 Plus: This system pairs traditional laser diffraction with a dual-camera dynamic imaging system. It allows pharmaceutical scientists to capture both overall size distributions (0.02 μm to 3,500 μm) and real-time physical images of particles. This capability helps identify agglomerates, irregular crystals, and oversized tails that pure laser diffraction might miss, explaining variations in dissolution profiles.
  • BeVision D3: A dynamic image analysis system used for real-time tracking and evaluating particle shape and morphology.

These analytical platforms are engineered to help pharmaceutical professionals obtain detailed structural insights into active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), target drug formulations, dissolution rates, and nanoparticle stability.

In addition, application specialists will be at Booth 1328 to help researchers map structural properties to drug delivery challenges, such as tracking stability across complex lipid nanoparticles or active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) blending behaviors.

Particle CharacterizationParticle characterization instruments are used to determine particle size distribution, shape, surface area, zeta potential, density and porosity of particles and materials. Multiple tecchniques are available for determining particle size, shape and count including dynamic light scattering (DLS), laser diffraction, electrozone (Coulter technique), imaging particle analysis and single particle optical sensing. Determine the density of your material with a gas pycnometer or examine its surface area and porosity with gas adsorption analyzers and mercury porosimeters.
