New intelligence-driven portfolio from Thermo Fisher Scientific

The Thermo Fisher Scientific Orbitrap Exploris™ 480 mass spectrometer was unveiled as a system designed to combine proven technology with advanced capabilities and intelligence-driven data acquisition techniques. Enabling researchers to deploy MS for more rigorous, high-throughput protein identification, quantitation and structural characterization. Thermo Fisher Scientific also announced its HR Multi-Attribute Method (MAM), designed to meet the demand for a single, high-resolution mass spectrometry-based workflow to directly assess the quality of increasingly complex biotherapeutics. Learn more about the latest additions to Thermo Fisher Scientific's portfolio here.

timsTOF fleX™ with ESI and MALDI for SpatialOMx™ by Bruker

Bruker's new timsTOF fleX™ with ESI and MALDI for SpatialOMx™ promises to be an invaluable research tool for spatially-resolved 4D proteomics and phenomics, as well as for advancing single-cell biology, pharmaco-proteomics, and translational 4D cross-omics workflows on large cell numbers or patient cohorts. Find out more about this release here.

TripleTOF® 6600+ LC-MS/MS System by SCIEX

SCIEX introduced the new TripleTOF® 6600+ LC-MS/MS system, with scanning SWATH® acquisition and OneOmics™ in SCIEX Cloud, is built for large-scale precise quantification in biomarker discovery and clinical research. The instrument incorporates simplified low-flow source technology to deliver accessible, sensitive and robust quantification; while multiple software-enabled improvements aimed to increase robustness and maximize system uptime. Acoustic Injection MS was also unveiled for the first time after several years of collaboration within the pharmaceutical industry. The new technique promises native mass spectrometry analysis with no sample prep for high throughput screening applications, with a commercially available product to follow. Find out more about the new tripleTOF here.

Amyloid MS Service and MALDImini-1 from Shimadzu

Shimadzu introduced its recently developed Amyloid Mass Spectrometry (MS) Service. This new test service for early screening of amyloid-positive subjects uses a combination of immunoprecipitation and MALDI-TOF mass spectroscopy (IP-MS) for early and accurate detection of amyloid deposition in the brain . Unlike conventional methods, Shimadzu’s new test is minimally invasive, cost-effective and suitable for large-scale deployment. Shimadzu also unveiled the MALDImini-1 Digital Ion Trap Mass Spectrometer, the first commercially available compact MALDI digital ion trap mass spectrometer. Read more here.

PerkinElmer presents new turn-key approach

PerkinElmer displayed a customer-first focus at ASMS. Aiming to provide a ‘painless’ service and trusted expertise to customers in the food safety and associated regulatory markets, from tools and templates such as Standard Operating Procedures, to software solutions designed to manage the complete flow and integrity of information.

It provides detailed information about the structure, composition, and properties of compounds and is widely used across fields such as environmental monitoring, materials science, drug discovery and development, food and beverage testing, and wider chemical research. Key MS techniques include tandem mass spectrometry (MS/MS), liquid chromatography–mass spectrometry (LS-MS) and inductively coupled plasma (ICP-MS). Choosing from these wide range of techniques and technologies can be a daunting task, so keep up to date with scientific applications, performance expectations, and customer reviews here all in one place. NMR and EPR SpectroscopyNuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy is used to resolve the local chemical environment of atomic nuclei with spin, revealing information on molecular structure, dynamic processes and chemical reactions of organic molecules, from proteins to synthetics. Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) also known as electron spin resonance (ESR) spectroscopy is used to detect and quantify paramagnetic species in a sample, including free radicals as transition metal ions. By immersing the sample in a strong magnetic field, both NMR and EPR spectrometers probe the sample with either radio waves or microwaves respectively. A range of benchtop, solid-state and time domain NMR spectrometers & EPR spectrometers are available, as well as NMR tubes, NMR solvents, software, coils, and magnets.
