Technical Parameters for the Use of Corning® DNA-BIND™ Products in High-Throughput Screening

23 Dec 2014

Previous work has demonstrated the use of DNA-BIND products for hybridization to immobilized capture probes, solid-phase mini-sequencing, examining DNA-protein interactions, and kinase assays. This application note demonstrates that Corning DNA-BIND products can facilitate the development of high-throughput solid-phase assays to analyze interactions between numerous biomolecules and provides technical parameters for their use.

DNA-BIND® 1 x 8 Stripwell™; 96-well Polystyrene Microplate without Lid, Nonsterile

Corning Life Sciences

Clear flat bottom polystyrene strips are designed to easily break apart and are pre-assembled in an “egg-crate” style strip holder that allows each individual well to be positioned back into the plate once broken. DNA-BIND® surface covalently binds to amine groups, and provides a convenient method to covalently immobilize aminated ssDNA by either the 5’ or 3’ end for hybridization and/or amplification, and for other DNA-based assays. Stripwell plates have: -Flat well bottoms. -Total well volume of 360 µL; working well volumes of 75 to 200 µL. -1 x 8 strips are designed to fit only one way into the strip holder, eliminating the chance of misorientation. -Lids are not available for these microplates.
