Enhanced cell viability in multi-day microplate assays
3 Sept 2025This application note from Molecular Devices demonstrates how integrating the SpectraMax® aer Gas Mixer with SpectraMax® iD5e or iD3s Multi-Mode Microplate Readers significantly improves cell viability in multi-day assays. By mimicking incubator-like conditions the system supports healthier cell cultures over 72 hours. Using U-2 OS cells and luminescent viability assays (RealTime-Glo™ and CellTiter-Glo®), the study shows that gas-controlled environments yield results comparable to standard incubators and outperform ambient CO₂ setups. The solution is ideal for researchers conducting long-term live-cell assays requiring consistent environmental control.
