Analysis of Akt/mTOR Signalling in Cancer Cell Lines

19 Jun 2011

In this application note Dr Joseph Hwang, from EMD Millipore’s Cell Signaling Group, demonstrates the utility of a bead-based multiplex assay that allows for the simultaneous detection of multiple phosphorylated Akt/mTOR pathway proteins. As nearly all of the players in the Akt/mTOR signalling pathway are co-ordinately regulated by phosphorylation, understanding the role of this pathway in normal physiological processes and in diseases such as cancer and diabetes requires the ability to simultaneously measure phosphorylation status of multiple protein targets.
