A Rapid and Sensitive LC-MS/MS Method for the Analysis of Three Forms of Thyroid Hormones Using Raptor™ Biphenyl LC Columns

A Rapid and Sensitive LC-MS/MS Method for the Analysis of Three Forms of Thyroid Hormones Using Raptor™ Biphenyl LC Columns

17 Jun 2015

This application note demonstrates an LC-MS/MS method for the analysis of thyroid hormones at the free form levels using the highly efficient and selective Raptor™ Biphenyl LC column. Accurate and sensitive measurement of low pg/mL levels of free hormones is necessary to assess thyroid function for both veterinary and human diagnostics.

ACQUITY UPLC® BEH C18 and C8 Columns

Waters

ACQUITY UPLC® BEH C18 and C8 columns were designed to be the universal columns of choice for most UPLC® separations by providing the widest pH range. They incorporate trifunctional ligand bonding chemistries which produce superior low pH stability and ultra-low column bleed. This low pH stability is combined with the high pH stability of the 1.7 µm BEH particle to deliver the widest usable pH operating range. In addition, these new chemistries also utilize new, proprietary endcapping processes which produce outstanding peak shape for bases. These bonding chemistries and particle synthesis innovations produce the sharpest peaks, highest efficiencies and maximum MS sensitivities.

Raptor™ Biphenyl LC Column

Restek Corp.

With Raptor™ LC columns, Restek chemists became the first to combine the speed of superficially porous particles (also known as SPP or “core-shell” particles) with the resolution of highly selective USLC® technology. This new breed of chromatographic column allows you to more easily achieve peak separation and faster analysis times without expensive UHPLC instrumentation.
