Case StudyLife Sciences

Smart Camera Enables Data Matrix Decoding of 96-Well Vial Trays

Laboratories often use 96-well trays, which allow employees and researchers to organize the tubes while adding sample and mix. A tray contains 96 small tubes or vials with a high density Data Matrix code printed on the bottom of each tube. This case study demonstrates how TRITEC developed a vial reader for the Friedrich Miescher Laboratory. The system provides the laboratory with an all-in-one solution enabling employees to decode each of the 2D Data Matrix codes in a single camera pass, and to transmit data via an Ethernet connection in a fast and efficient way.
