"We have this machine for over 4 months now and this is a good piece of kit for performing simple luminescence based reporter gene and fluorescence calcium assays. In terms of data acquisition and reproducibility, it’s is as good any other readers (we use readers from 3 other manufacturer). The acquisition software ICE is straightforward and simple to use and gets you going pretty quickly. As we do most of our analysis in prism/excel we can't comment on the additional microwin data analysis package that you can purchase. Additionally, the price of this machine is pretty competitive."

"We obtain very reliable results. But big problems with the filter sliders that scratched and was not fixed in a very efficient way. We had to send the machine away twice for fixing the same problem. User guide was misleading for priming and washing procedures, we had to have the plate reader fully cleaned because of spillage. For this problem, after service was great and efficient. Berthold provided new software avoiding the shooting of 2 injectors at the same time during priming and washing procedures."

"This machine is very powerful yet has a small foot-print. Perfect for a small Elisa-technology based lab as ours. We have three detection-methods built in: Absorbance, Luminescence and Fluorescence. Also one dispensing unit is provided, very handy for flash luminescence applications. We use the TriStar even for chemistry end-point measurements in glass microtiter plates. Also measurements in non-SBS-format plates, tubes and vials can be done, supported by the easy-to-use but powerfull operating software. On occasions we needed a software update or minor repairs, which were done swiftly and effectively, and in a way we never were without an instrument, so we had no delays in our analysis output."
