This detector is a perfect compliment to an LC/MS. I leave it on continuously and capture the ratemeter into xcalibur. The y-glass cells are very sensitive and inert to a wide variety of analytes. Highly recommended.

UPLC® and Online Radioactivity Detection of Metabolites
The study of the metabolism of a compound plays a key role in drug discovery and optimization. This application note describes the protocol for using the Waters® Open Architecture UPLC® System coupled to a Berthold Radioactivity Monitor LB509 to monitor the metabolites produced when a 3H labelled drug was injected into a hepatocyte suspension culture. The coupling of UPLC® and Online Radioactivity was found to significantly improve the separation and data quality for the identification of the labelled metabolites.
Faster Analysis of Radio Pharmaceuticals Using UPLC™ in Combination with Low Volume Radio Flow Cell
Positron emission tomography (PET) has established itself as a dominant imaging modality in nuclear medicine and drug research. This application note details a study in which it was investigated if combination of an UPLC™ with a radioactivity detector would result in faster analyses of PET radiopharmaceuticals with a higher degree of sensitivity and efficiency. The study found that using Waters Acquity UPLC™ System with Berthold FlowStar LB513 radioactivity detector was a feasible for sensitive analysis of radiotracers. It was also found that this system could detect much lower radioactivity in comparison to Radio-HPLC systems.
Faster Analysis of Radio Pharmaceuticals using UPLC™ in Combination with Low Volume Radio Flow Cell
This application note investigates whether the combination of an UPLC™ with a radioactivity detector would result in faster analyses of PET radiopharmaceuticals with a higher degree of sensitivity and efficiency. 6-fold faster analyses times with much lower backgrounds were achieved using the combination of UPLC™ and Berthold FlowStar radioactivity detector.
