Agencourt FormaPure DNA isolates nucleic acid from often challenging to work with formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue. Increasingly, FFPE samples are an essential part of many next-generation sequencing (NGS) sample prep workflows, specifically in the field of cancer research. High quality extraction protocols focused on yield and purity are essential to achieving reliable results. FormaPure DNA now provides an automation-ready, SPRI-based extraction reagent kit to support your evolving research needs. Most notably, it provides significant time savings in the form of reduced turnaround times and less than 15 minutes of hands-on time when automated on a Biomek liquid handler.

FormaPure DNA is one of three reagent kits in the FormaPure family, which also includes FormaPure Total for total nucleic acid isolation and FormaPure RNA for RNA isolation. FormaPure reagent kits are a single chemistry system designed and optimized for use in NGS and other downstream applications including qPCR/ddPCR/PCR.

Automated FFPE DNA Extraction Using the FormaPure DNA Extraction Kit and the Biomek Series of Automated Liquid Handlers from Beckman Coulter, Inc.

Extraction of high quality DNA from formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) tissue is essential for many cancer research applications. In this technical note, the automation of the FormaPure DNA extraction kit on the Biomek FXP Dual Arm Multi-channel 96 and Span-8 automated liquid handler (Biomek FXP) is described.

Scientific PosterLife Sciences

Accelerate Biomarker Discovery and Improve Results Using Automation

Many genomic processes, including next-generation sequencing (NGS), are used by researchers for making biomarker discoveries. This scientific poster describes automation solutions using Beckman Coulter liquid handlers, such as the Biomek i-Series platform, for cancer biomarker discovery. Use of automated liquid handlers decreases hands-on time and increases throughput of NGS. The Beckman Coulter liquid handlers are also effective at processing challenging samples, such as formalin fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) material.
