Material Science Research

Equipment is good but after sales service need to be improved

Review Date: 7 Feb 2026 | Malvern Panalytical

Compatibility among accesories should be procured

Average Rating 3.0

Application Area:

Materials innovation and research

The versatility of the accesories should be increased, allowing the compatibility of different optics, mirrors, etc. with the different X ray tubes and detectors. In our case it is neccesary to change tubes, optics and detector for multiple applications. These actions consume time of technicians and raise prices of analysis.

Very good instrument, service is a concern.

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

XRD analysis including polymer, catalysis and other solid materials.

The instrument is really good. Overall, it is very easy to use and has a lot of functionalities. The footprint is small considering its multifunctionalities, which also adds great value to it. Service is fair. We have experienced time with very good service and support, but also a period of time when no one answered our phone call at all. Even when we have interest in purchasing new parts and accessories, no one replied to us. It seems to be inconsistent in terms of service. Hope service will be improved and kept in good shape.

Analysis of metals, ores, fabric, nanoparticles

3 years back we purchased Empyrean 3rd Gen with HTK-16N, for our lab to analysis vast types of sample for academics. After sales services team were always in touch with us to teach us how to record data in a much better way. We were so satisfied with there services that 2 years back we purchased another Empyrean 3rd Gen with 3-Axis cradle as we were started getting huge number of samples from neighboring industries & institutes. Even though other establishments also have XRD this equipment has higher accuracy, precision & small measurement time compare to competitors. Also to update our operators with new innovation going on in X-ray diffraction Malvern carry outonline workshops, which is a great initiative.
