Great, easy to use instrument

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Purification of small molecules

Extremely easy to use, minimal maintenance required. Nice availability of add-ons to make instrument more robust

Easy to use and a huge timesaver!

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

Organic synthesis

Easy to use and importantly, easy to teach other people to use. Results are pretty good, though some compounds still separate better by hand. It saves so much time on easy separations though, that a system such as this one would be a valuable addition to any lab.

Great, this instrument is vital for us

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Purification of compounds for chemistry

The reproductibility of the instrument and cartridges is very good and help us a lot to maintain a goood productivity in tha lab. Also the representative from Teledyne is coming often in the lab to check up with us and give us some updates on the new product that you are selling which is also nice!

Application Area:

Purify flash chromatography of chemical small molecules.

This instrument if highly effective and very easy to use. The maintains cost for this instrument is literally zero if you use this instrument properly on day-to-day basis. Would recommend and must have for Discovery research group.

Since I have been using it, I cannot imagine doing manual column chromatography again

Average Rating 4.3

Application Area:

Purification of bioactive small molecules

The machine is easy to use and reliable. It allows for reproducible purification. Rarely, either hardware or software bugs appear which are often difficult to fix, but it is considered normal given the heavy usage of the equipment in our laboratory. Generally the support is prompt and helpful. We have several of these machines in our laboratory and it was always a good experience working with them. It significantly improves our group's productivity allowing for the discovery of novel antimicrobial compounds at a faster rate.

Purification small molecules building blocks and final compounds

I'm using Combi Flash system for many years (~8-9) and this new system is very well design to maintain, easy to transfer purification method from TLC analysis. The system maintains consistently in pressure and fraction collection for using the same method for similar analogues. It's easy to change method during ongoing purification while developing new method for analogues purification. I like options to extend the run without finishing it, change solvent % during run. Also, I like the option of monitoring purification with different UV absorption running simultaneously. Additionally, I'm very pleased with the size of the instrument itself. In many labs researchers doesn't have extra space to put very useful instrument. especially under the hood, because of dangerous vapors of many solvents. The Combi Flash Nextgen 300+ is very compact and you can have a cover for racks to avoid vapors getting out and can keep the instrument on the open bench space in the lab. The maintenance of this Combi Flash also is very easy and Teledyne ISCO technician (I would like especially mention Nancy Fowler) helped a lot in method transfer and answered all questions about method design, some tips and tricks in use and maintenance.

The CombiFlash NextGen 300+ comes standard with all options installed. Flow rate range is from 1 to 300 mL/min at operating pressures up to 300 psi (20 bar). The system is fitted with a solid load injection valve that can be bypassed if you decide to perform a liquid injection. RFID technology comes standard and automatically reads the size and type of RediSep or RediSep Gold column being used for the purification. Based on this information, a default gradient and flow rate are programmed into the system. Simply insert the column into the stand, press Play and the run starts. This same RFID technology automatically reads the rack type being used ensuring there is never a missed or overfilled tube. Active solvent and waste level monitoring is standard on the NextGen 300+.
