Great Instrument to work with in R&D
Analysis of residuals
Good instrument to work on for residuals development and routine analysis, easy to maintain and parts are readily available. After sales response needs a little improvement as everything should come via customer care India and 90% of the cases they cannot solve which delays the process. Instrument wise it's a robust instrument.

GCMS instrument worth its cost!
Synthesis and characterization of compounds
This GCMS has been a world class instrument for chracterization with user friendly applications and software, high precision and accurate determination. The volume of information in the instruments's library has facilitated the detection of constituents separated in the column and subsequent interpretation of result. It's self cleaning capacity, by baking the column is another excellent point for maintenance. Availability of filters for the inflow of gas into the column aimed at preventing contamination is a stand out practice for GCMS.

The Agilent 7000D triple quadrupole GC/MS is the latest model of the most successful GC/MS/MS in history. The right choice for most applications, the 7000D is the fourth-generation version of the GC/TQ used by agencies around the world to create and validate many now-standard GC/MS/MS methods. The 7000D triple quadrupole GC/MS incorporates a range of features such as the MRM Optimizer tool and dynamic MRM methods to help you move existing single quadrupole methods to the GC/TQ platform and gain the best possible performance in the process.
Micro and nanoplastics: A deep dive into a global issue
Microplastics are miniscule pieces of plastic in the environment, a consequence of global plastic consumption and the plastic pollution this causes. Current research finds that microplastics will also degrade into smaller particles on a nanoscale, called nanoplastics, which measure in the range of 1 to 1000 nm. Find out more about the sources, scale, and consequences of plastic particle pollution, and about the tools from Agilent Technologies that have been developed to combat this global issue.
Agilent Inert Plus GC/MS system with HydroInert source
With increased price on the helium (He) market, laboratories are exploring the option of hydrogen (H2 ) carrier gas. Since hydrogen is a reactive gas, hydrogenation and dechlorination reactions can and do occur in the mass spectrometer electron ionization (EI) source. Here, Agilent Technologies presents a newly designed extractor source for the Agilent 5977B Inert Plus GC/MSD and Agilent 7000D/E Inert Plus triple quadrupole GC/MS systems and explains how it can address these hydrogen-related issues.
Analysis of semivolatile organic compounds with hydrogen carrier gas and HydroInert source by gas chromatography/triple quadrupole mass spectrometry
Gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (GC/MS) is integral to the analysis of semivolatile organic compounds (SVOCs) in environmental matrices. Recent pressure on the helium (He) supply has required organizations to actively investigate hydrogen (H2) carrier gas. Here, Agilent Technologies presents the Agilent HydroInert source, and explains how it retains the ability to analyze a wide calibration range and meets the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) method 8270 calibration criteria when using H2 carrier gas.
Development of GC/TQ methods for the analysis of hazardous chemicals
In this application note, Agilent Technologies describes how the Agilent MassHunter Optimizer software for GC Triple Quad (GC/TQ) can help generate multiple reaction monitoring (MRM) transitions for newly added compounds using an Agilent 8890 GC coupled to an Agilent 7000D GC/TQ system.
Full scan quantitative analysis of semivolatile organic compounds
The analysis of SVOCs by GC/MS is challenging due to the array of target analytes, including bases, neutrals, and acids that span broad molecular weight and boiling point ranges. Download this application note by Agilent to find out why the 7000D Triple Quadrupole GC/MS is the right tool to further your research.

Determination of 19 polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon compounds in salmon and beef
In this application note, Agilent presents a multiresidue method for the analysis of PAH residues in salmon and beef. This workflow, consisting of liquid extraction, Captiva EMR–Lipid cleanup, and analysis by GC/MS/MS, promises high matrix cleanup, excellent analyte recovery, and precise results for multiresidue analysis of PAHs.
Quantitation of pesticides in strawberries at tolerance levels established by the US EPA
In this application note, Agilent utilizes the 8890/7000D and 8890/7010B triple quadrupole GC/MS systems for the quantitation of GC-amenable incurred pesticides in strawberries. These systems are shown to be suitable for the determination of pesticides in strawberries at the tolerances established by the US EPA, ranging from 10 to 25,000 ppb.
Optimized GC-MS/MS analysis for PAHs in challenging matrices using the Agilent 8890/7000D triple quadrupole GC/MS
By proper selection of instrument configuration and operating conditions, the Agilent 8890 GC combined with an Agilent 7000D triple quadrupole GC/MS system provides a robust means of analyzing PAHs in difficult matrices. Midcolumn backflushing, continuous hydrogen source cleaning (JetClean), and use of an alternative drawout lens result in excellent linearity across a calibration range of 1 to 1,000 pg. System precision and robustness are demonstrated with replicate injections of an extract from a high organic content soil. The added selectivity of MS/MS compared to MS also simplifies data review.
