Great instrument.

Average Rating 4.7

Application Area:

Condition metallic desorption tubes

Product easily conditions sorbent tubes. reduced time in doing so, thus increasing lab productivity. The only negative quirk is when the o-rings are going bad, the tubes fall out of manifold and stay in the machine.

Functions well, but needs remote software control

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

Breath metabolite analysis

Tube conditioner works very well; however, the controllers are inconvenient to program. I was very disappointed that there was no RS-232 connection so I could write my own program to change temperature and generate logs.

The TC-20 and TC-20 TAG are compact, stand-alone devices for the simultaneous conditioning of up to 20 sorbent tubes, which save time by freeing up your analytical instrument to run samples rather than condition tubes.

Features:

  • Capacity for up to 20 industry-standard (3½″ × ¼″ o.d.) thermal desorption tubes
  • Uses nitrogen rather than expensive helium
  • Eliminates risk of contamination of the analytical instrument
  • Dry-purge function removes excess water that is trapped during sampling, preventing it interfering with the sample analysis
  • Compatible with single-bed sorbent tubes fitted with TubeTAG RFID tags (TC-20 TAG only)

Disease diagnosis via breath and bio-monitoring: Optimizing the analytical performance of sorbent tube sampling and thermal desorption–GC–MS

Breath monitoring has the potential to provide diagnostic solutions for a wide range of diseases. However, its application remains challenging, and many aspects must be taken into consideration when developing and optimizing sampling and analytical parameters.

In this application note, Markes International describes how to optimize the analytical performance of thermal desorption (TD) for those carrying out routine or research monitoring of breath for disease diagnosis. Download the full note below to explore guidance on the major steps in the sampling and laboratory workflow, discover the main analytical challenges, and gain advice on which features and parameter ranges to select.

Extending the Compatible Analyte Volatility Range for Indoor Air Quality and Material Emissions Testing Using Multi-Bed Sorbent Tubes from Markes

This application note summarizes two important and independent studies aimed at extending the compatible analyte range of tests used to determine chemicals released from materials, and associated indoor air quality measurements. The papers compare the performance of single-bed Tenax® TA tubes to those packed with multiple sorbents, and demonstrate how the latter guarantee improved recovery of very volatile compounds without compromising the recovery or stability of heavier target analytes.
