Best Spectralphotometer ever! Works since 2011 and ongoing! No Fallouts!

Works perfectly well. We have used it since 10 years (2011-2021 and ongoing). The maintenance is minimized. To keep it clean you just wipe with a soft wet flannel. And every 2-4 years the lamp has to be changed. This has to be done accurately. If the lamp is aslope the calibration and precision will not be correct. But when you follow the instructions this is no problem. I hope that the next generations of this photometer are as steady as this one. But actually no further generations are in need for the standard application. Of course next generations might have a better the link-up and control system (via smartphone or wifi) but is that really necessary?

UV-Vis
Analytik Jena's SPEORD PLUS 200 is a good instrument for UV Vis analysis. It's a powerful spectrophotometer with which we can execute many manipulations and we can monitor many reactions in situ. With some accessories we can do more interesting things.

A very good spectrophotometer with a very good rate speed - sensitivity.
Measurement of catalytic processes
A very versatile spectrophotometer, with a very good rate between speed and sensitivity. For this reason, it is very suitable to follow the degradation of contaminants or other molecules by photocatalytic processes. In the other hand, it is very easy to use but it also allows to configure all the possible parameters to obtain the best results.

High-end optics

Real double-beam
Real double-beam mode for highest precision and a better long-term stability by measuring the sample and reference signal at exact the same moment. The measurement results always show a current comparison of both beams. This way lamp fluctuation and drifts are corrected by the second beam. Furthermore is a direct compensation of the blanc solution possible.

Spectrophotometric determination of standard parameters in wastewater according to standard methods

Enzymatic Determination of Sulfite in White Wine Using the SPECORD<sup>®</sup> 210 PLUS
In this application note, the concentration of sulfite in a white wine was determined enzymatically, using the SPECORD® 210 PLUS with a Peltier cooled 8 cell charger. Sulfite or sulfur dioxide is for example added to wine as an antioxidant and preservative or to bind by-products of fermentation, which would have a negative impact on the taste. The concentration of sulfite in white wine is determined using enzymatic determination. By measurement of the absorbance change in the UV/Vis range of absorbent coenzymes, nearly all substances which can be converted by enzymes can be determined photometrically.
Determining the Whiteness of Cardboard Fiber Using the SPECORD<sup>®</sup> 250 PLUS with WinASPECT<sup>®</sup> PLUS Software.
This application describes a method for the determination of the degree of whiteness of cardboard fiber for the pulp and paper manufacture. White is the color of purity and of cleanness and further it is actually an indicator of freedom from contaminants, and as such can be a measure of quality of the product. The measurement was carried out using the SPECORD® 250 PLUS with the integrating sphere as accessory and by means of the color module in Win ASPECT® PLUS software.
Testing the Protection of Sunglasses by Means of UV/Vis Spectroscopy
Although sunglasses are a popular fashion accessory, they are vital to protect the eyes against harmful UV radiation. The shorter the radiation, the more harmful it is to human eyes and it is recommended by health professionals that sunglasses should filter radiation up to 400nm almost completely. In this application note, several sunglasses were tested for UV filtration using the SPECORD® 250 PLUS from Analytik Jena.
