The most ergonomic pipettes I have ever used
SARS-CoV-2 RNA Extraction and Testing
I love my new Ovation ESC Pipettes. The reason these pipettes were bought was because I got acute tendinitis from pipetting so many RNA extractions for SARS-CoV-2 PCR. I was using another brand of electronic pipette but the manual ejection of the pipette tip was really hurting my thumb. My wrist was also hurting due to the angle at which I had to hold the pipette. I heard about these pipettes from a lab member at another lab that owns them when I was complaining about my injuries. Since using the Ovation Pipettes, my tendinitis has gotten a lot better and I'm able to finish more extractions than I was before. My favorite thing about these pipettes is how little force it takes to do everything, especially when compared to other pipette brands.

With the hundreds of thousands of aliquots over these years, I do not know what shape my hands would be in if I did them all manually.

Small Molecule Quantification by LC-MS/MS
I transitioned to these pipettes about 8 years ago. After pipetting for a decade my thumb joint started hurting daily to the point I was going to have to find a different career. I met with an ergonomic specialist who found these pipettes for me to try. Ovation was and continues to be excellent to work with, they were very helpful in picking out the pipettes for my work. My lab does small molecule quantification by LC-MS/MS so we need highly accurate and precise pipettes- and these work significantly better than the standard pipettes! These pipettes can also be calibrated quickly and easily- no longer needing to send pipettes out for calibration.

Been using these for 15 years; this is the only design that alleviates RSI and carpal tunnel from pipetting for me. There is barely any force required to depress the plunger, and the preset electronic volumes mean that you don't have to rapidly twist dials to reset the volume.
