Description

The NED® Digital Microscope from Bruker Biomedical Systems is designed to improve digital pathology and hematology image analysis and reduce the reliance on manual microscopy, significantly improving laboratory workflows.

This real-time digital microscope allows laboratories to identify and count abnormalities quickly and easily with clear imagery and immediate results, lessening dependance on manual reviews and courier costs.

Two models serve specific functions:

  • NED-DP is designed for digital pathology of various patient sample types, while NED-DH is designed specifically for digital hematology.
  • Both provide high throughput digital imaging of blood and body fluid differentials, bridging one of the last automation gaps in microscopy.

Transforming how pathologists and hematologists access and share slides worldwide

Digital microscopy is helping laboratories and pathologists collaborate in new ways, making it easier to review and share clinical samples in real time. In this SelectScience interview, Kirk Walton, Regional Business Manager at Bruker, discusses how the NED Digital Microscope supports remote slide viewing for hematology and pathology applications, enabling experts to access and navigate stained samples from anywhere in the world. He also highlights how the Aerospray sample preparation system and low-maintenance microscope design can help streamline workflows, supporting more efficient slide review and diagnostic decision-making.

This interview was recorded at ADLM 2026, Anaheim, California.
