Amazing instrument

Average Rating 5.0

Application Area:

Analysis of antibodies

This instrument is so much easier to use and maintain compared to previous ICE systems. Cartridges last longer, semi automated sample prep, easy instrument cleaning, easy to train new analysts. FLR detection and on board mixing are a huge bonus for consistent sample preparation. Highly recommend it.

Recommend that you purchase at least one in your lab especially for routine CE work.

Average Rating 4.3

Application Area:

Therapeutic protein characterization

The product is easy to use for scientist who are not CE experts. The price is moderate but the pice of consumables is high. Because it is almost plug and play, there is less flexibility for method development but there are significant on-line literature resources from the Protein Simple website. Direct support is good but the response can be a little slow. The instrument is productive so the Maurice is worth the price.

Protein characterization

Yes, this is very easy to use, quite quick in analysis and shows good reproducibility with data.

Reproducible results; High throughput.

Average Rating 4.0

Application Area:

Analyze protein for their isoelectric point

I have been using this instrument for almost a year for analyzing proteins and antibodies. The results that Maurice produces are reproducible. The procedure is relatively easy and fast. It is high throughput and comes with a sample tray temperature controller which is a great feature when running too many samples. The cleaning is automated and you can walk away after starting your sequence. The consumables are quite expensive but the price is worth it when valuable results are produced. The customer service is not the best in terms of communication but will get back to you finally with a solution.

Maurice innovates the conventional capillary electrophoresis technology to automate your protein profiling either by size or charge. Need cIEF and CE-SDS data for your mAbs, ADCs, vaccines or virus-like particles? Maurice does it all. Just pop in one of the preassembled cartridges, drop in your sample vials or a 96-well plate, and hit start. You will complete method development in a day; and get high-resolution, reproducible data in minutes.

Application of Maurice CE-SDS for Biopharmaceutical QC Workflows

In this application note, Maurice™ CE-SDS is evaluated on assay performance and method validation characteristics that are important for QC analytical testing using three reference molecules. Bio-Techne demonstrates the application of Maurice CE-SDS to a QC-specific workflow that eliminates the use of a commercial IS, thereby removing potential concerns such as introducing contaminants to test samples and interfering with subsequent analyses.

Analysis of Monoclonal Antibodies with Carboxypeptidase B

The heavy chain of human IgG contains a C-terminal lysine residue which is typically cleaved off by carboxypeptidase in vivo. For decades, it was believed that the C-terminal clipping of lysine residues did not affect antibody structure and function, and was therefore not considered a critical quality attribute (CQA). However, the significance of C-terminal lysine clipping is just now being recognized, with a recent study demonstrating that antibodies that retain the C-terminal lysine are attenuated for complement-dependent cytotoxicity. Thus, assessing C-terminal lysine variants is required in monoclonal antibody (mAb) process development.
