IPTG
Isopropyl-β-D-thiogalactoside (IPTG) is used in combination with X-gal to detect β-galactosidase activity in blue/white selection assays. When the appropriate vectors are used, blue white screening is an important tool for screening and selecting relevant colonies.

IPTG can induce protein expression when used with a number of derivatives including DE3-derivatives and DE3 pLysS-derivatives. IPTG is provided in powder form and may only be used in research applications.
Features:
- Used in combination with X-gal to detect β-galactosidase activity in blue/white selection assays.
