Help in Generating Publication Quality Data During LIBS Analysis
Analyze samples using LIBS technology
The iStar ICCD camera is compatible to our existing spectrograph. It has many features which help in gating and imaging the geological samples to generate quality data. We are happy with the use of it.

Very useful, we look forward to continuing to use it for other applications
Imaging plasma phenomena
This product has been performing as we hoped. The manual is useful and the customer care has been excellent.

Unbeatable results and functionality for the price.
Organic electronics and photophysics
I use the iStar for both steady-state spectra and long-time PL dynamics, tracking emissive species and lifetimes from ~few ns out to near 1 ms. It is very easy to use and offers an excellent dynamic range. The time-resolved gating is a very powerful tool, and is unique in this price bracket. However, it would be much improved if the gate length could be reduced - the effective temporal resolution right now is > 1 ns, while the (much more expensive) equivalent from PI offers < 500 ps.

Andor’s iStar ICCD Camera Series extract the very best from CCD sensor and gated image intensifier technologies, achieving a superior combination of rapid acquisitions rates and ultra-high Sensitivity down to single photon. Exceptional detection performances are accessed through high Quantum-Efficiency Image intensifiers, Thermo-Electric cooling to -40°C, 500 kHz photocathode gating rates and enhanced intensifier EBI noise reduction.
Automated 2D elemental mapping by Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy
This application note successfully demonstrates chemical mapping based on laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) to analyze the distribution of various chemical elements on the surfaces of cut specimens of various rocks.
