small molecules
This SQD detector does what it is purchased for. Very basic function, but it does serve the purpose. It is easy to use. The software comes with it is Masslynx. I would recommend it if all you want is just to get the basic information, nothing fancy.

Comparing Orthogonality of Convergence Chromatography to Reversed-Phase LC
This study demonstrates the benefits of UltraPerformance Convergence Chromatography™ (UPC2®) as an orthogonal mode of separation to reversed phase liquid chromatography. Challenges associated with impurity isolation and purification, and the role of profile fingerprinting, are highlighted.
Analysis of Free Bromate Ions in Tap Water using an ACQUITY UPLC BEH Amide Column
Bromates found in drinking water pose a toxic health risk to humans if ingested in significant quantities. This application note describes the analysis of free bromated ions in tap water using an ACQUITY UPLC BEH Amide Column. Results demonstrate the feasibility of analyzing bromate ions in tap water using the HILIC separation mode and flexible LC-MS instrumentation that already exists in many laboratories worldwide.
Analysis of Polyphenols in Fruit Juices
In this application note, a rapid method for the detection and confirmation of polyphenolic compounds in fruit juices using the ACQUITY UPLC H-Class System is described. With the selectivity of the MS from the ACQUITY SQ Detector, analysis times can be further reduced for quantification of key components.
