For users in the modern analysis laboratory convenient handling is of particular importance in the case of microwave digestions since, after all, the digestions need to be processed rapidly and in a cost-effective manner. Berghof is the only company that manufactures its own containers for microwave digestion entirely from TFM™ PTFE. The material’s outstanding chemical resistance, its pressure and temperature stability and low microporosity, make it especially suitable for wet chemical digestions.

All pressure vessels consist of just three components. They can be opened quickly and simply by hand without the need for special tools. After digestion the remaining pressure is released in a controlled manner providing safety for the user, while the large internal diameter makes cleaning child’s play.

Berghof´s innovative top-loading design means that the digestion vessels are loaded into the oven chamber individually. Time-consuming assembly and centering of the rotor and the connection of sensors belong to the past. Once digestion is complete the vessels can be removed after a brief cooling period without the need to ventilate the system as well. The concept is an entirely successful one that brings with it outstanding productivity for the user.

Speedwave® four Microwave Digestion Systems

Berghof Products + Instruments GmbH

Berghof 'speedwave® four' microwave digestion system - uncomplicated and straight forward digestions. Speedwave makes laboratory work easier and safer. Very easy handling thanks to the top loading concept. The entire, heavy rotor no longer needs to be lifted and placed in the microwave oven. It remains in the oven chamber and the vessels are simply inserted individually and removed again after digestion. The heated vessels can be removed immediately after the digestion. The sample throughput rate is significantly raised because the cooling down phase is omitted. All of the digestion vessels consist of only a few individual parts and are correspondingly fast and easy to close or open. It is handled manually without any special tools. Optimal safety because of contactless temperature and pressure measurement. The contactless sensor technology simplifies working with the system and reduces operating costs. It is no longer necessary to perform measurements in a reference vessel. There is no need for sensor connections. Dip tubes are no longer needed to be mounted, sealed and cleaned. The speedwave® DIRC thermometer for contactless measurements measures the temperature of every single sample solution directly. There is no time delay owing to heat up the vessel walls or sensors. The equally contact-free, optical pressure control captures all of the internal pressures of each vessel. It is not necessary to take measurements in a reference vessel. The microwave output is controlled via the specified temperature profile. This combination of temperature and pressure control enables ideal process control and ensures optimal safety. Low operating costs since Berghof uses only pressure vessels made from TFMTM-PTFE. The vessel and lid are corrosion and pressure-resistant and produced entirely from this material. A pressure jacket and/or lid made from a different plastic material which is partly microwave-transparent and not resistant to acid (e.g. PEEK) is not necessary. The material used guarantees the vessels a service life of at least 3-5 years. Hence the vessels are no longer regarded as consumables and are therefore logically included in the instruments warranty. The 'speedwave® four' significantly reduces the operating costs for microwave pressure digestion.

Speedwave® Entry Microwave Digestion Systems

Berghof Products + Instruments GmbH

Thanks to its size, speedwave Entry is particularly well suited to flexible laboratory use. The combination of space-saving design and ease of use makes it particularly attractive for use in routine analysis, training or study. Especially in routine analysis, where large amounts of samples must be cost-effectively digested within tight time frames, there is a demand for microwave digestion systems that don’t need a lot of accessories. Speedwave Entry perfectly matches with these requirements. By concentrating on what’s important, the system enables the best digestion results with the greatest possible safety. The intelligent device concept speaks for itself: the integrated thermometer facilitates reliable reaction control without reference vessels, an additional exhaust system ensures greater safety and efficiency, and the illuminated oven chamber allows you to take a look behind the scenes. In combination with intuitive software, Speedwave Entry is easy to get to grips with and guarantees exceptional digestion quality.   Features: Avoid sample contamination through corrosion-resistant oven coating and gas collection system. High digestion quality and extremely low blank values thanks to vessels made of isostatically molded TFMTM-PTFE. Easy handling thanks to innovative vessel design and and QuickStart control. Constant sample temperature and digestion process results through the power control system in dependence on sample temperature. 20% faster cooling and therefore higher sample throughput through additional exhaust unit. Complete reaction control due to optical temperature measurement.
