Discngine, a software solutions provider for R&D in Life Sciences, concludes a 2-year Research and Development project by launching a new product: Discngine Qualification. After attending workshops and events around lab automation, Discngine members identified a recurrent issue in laboratories: the qualification of liquid handling systems (to make sure robotic platforms work within supplier acceptance thresholds).

Indeed, it is important for scientists to be sure their equipment is well qualified not only during one “job” but during a complete project (or campaign). The precision and accuracy of pipetting in laboratories may influence the assay results and can, therefore, have a direct impact on critical decisions taken in a project. Furthermore, scientists need to be able to trust the quality of their acquired data.

Discngine Qualification enables scientists to validate the precision and accuracy of their liquid handling systems overtime. The application is workflow-based and lets users easily capture their raw data and validate their robotic processes in real operating conditions (already implemented with the most common readers and platforms). The software can combine colorimetry and gravimetry analyses for a more precise performance evaluation and can display results in control charts. After defining qualification requirements, control charts allow users to easily identify drifts and impacts of maintenance operations. Finally, QA/QC results can be shared with colleagues, partners, customers and robotic manufacturers thanks to the product’s cloud implementation.

Discngine offers different subscription plans based on the number of analyses the user wishes to publish per year. A published analysis is an analysis the user conducted and added to the results history in the application (allowing them to build control charts). A free version is available and offers 12 published analyses per year.
