Use of Phase Contrast Imaging to Track Morphological Cellular Changes due to Apoptotic Activity with the Cytation™ 5 Cell Imaging Reader from BioTek

13 Nov 2014

This application note demonstrates a method to incorporate automated, digital widefield phase contrast microscopy to monitor potential apoptotic effects of lead molecules. The ability to control conditions within the imaging chamber at 37 °C/5% CO2 enabled kinetic images to be captured on an hourly basis throughout the entire incubation period. Determination of apoptotic activity was also performed with a fluorescent live cell assay. Results confirmed the validity of the image-based method to provide accurate analysis of apoptotic induction.

Agilent BioTek Gen5 Software for Detection

Agilent Technologies

Agilent BioTek Gen5 software for Agilent BioTek multimode and single-mode microplate readers is an integrated tool for endpoint, kinetic, spectral scanning, and well area scanning. It controls all the functions of the plate reader and has powerful data analysis capabilities for a broad range of applications. Gen5 microplate reader software is also used to integrate BioTek plate readers to BioTek BioStack and other automated systems.
