Thermo Scientific PCR and qPCR Cycle Optimization for Faster Results

15 Nov 2013

PCR and real-time quantitative PCR (qPCR) are widely used technologies for many applications. The faster the results can be obtained, the more quickly research can move forward. By optimizing the cycling conditions, significant time can be saved. The ramp rates and heat dispersion of different instruments will affect how much cycle optimization a researcher can perform. This application note demonstrates examples of the optimization process.

Solaris qPCR Gene Expression Master Mix

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Solaris qPCR Master Mix has been developed in conjunction with Solaris qPCR Gene Expression Assays for quantification of DNA and cDNA. Optimal qPCR results using probe detection chemistries can be achieved by using this same system of qPCR products. Optimized Solaris qPCR Master Mixes have been developed to ensure the best possible Solaris assay performance. In addition to enhanced performance, these optimized reagents offer a unique feature – they’re blue. This visual confirmation of set-up helps eliminate pipetting errors and further enhances the repeatability of your data. Solaris qPCR Master Mixes are compatible with all commonly used real-time instrument platforms.

Solaris qPCR Expression Assays

Thermo Fisher Scientific

Pre-designed, gene-specific probe and primer pairs for repeatable, sensitive and gene specific RT-qPCR quantification for human and mouse protein-coding genes and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs). Thermo Scientific Solaris qPCR Gene Expression Assays are pre-designed, gene specific probe and primer pairs that utilize minor groove binder (MGB) and Superbase technologies to deliver repeatable, sensitive and gene specific RT-qPCR (real-time) quantification for human and mouse protein-coding genes and long noncoding RNAs (lncRNAs).Solaris Assays are pre-designed to specifically detect all known variants of a gene with a single assay for high-confidence results. Solaris qPCR Primer and Probe Sets should be used in conjunction with the complementary instrument-specific Solaris qPCR Gene Expression Master Mix for optimal performance.Solaris qPCR Assays have also been pre-designed to the most commonly used reference genes to help you normalize expression levels of your experimental samples.Solaris qPCR Expression Assays Features & Benefits: High performance assay – Expect excellent results in terms of repeatability, sensitivity, dynamic range, efficiency and specificity. Sequence information included – Probe and primer sequence information is provided with every assay so you can publish with confidence. The master mix is blue – Solaris assays have been developed with our optimized, blue qPCR master mix for ultimate assay performance and ease-of-use. See your reagents as you pipette, track your progress across multiple wells, and visually assess your set-up. Familiar protocol – If you currently use qPCR probe assays, Solaris Assays will not require major changes to your protocol or routine.
