Highly Efficient Delivery of Viral RNA Genomes Using a Lipid-Based Transfection Reagent Compared to Electroporation

9 Feb 2015

To optimize and facilitate the introduction of viral RNAs into mammalian cells, this application note compare lipid-based transfection reagents and electroporation for their ability to deliver hepatitis C virus (HCV) and yellow fever virus replicons to HuH7 cells.

TransIT®-mRNA Transfection Kit

Mirus Bio LLC

A high efficiency, low toxicity, large RNA transfection reagent for mammalian cells.TransIT®-mRNA Transfection Kit is designed to transfect RNA into a broad range of cell types with minimal cellular toxicity. RNA delivery avoids transcriptional regulation effects by directly delivering the RNA to the cytoplasm for expression. The TransIT-mRNA Transfection Kit can be used to deliver a variety of RNA molecules including mRNAs and viral RNAs (2–10 kb). It can be used for multiple applications such as short-term protein expression, viral production and replication studies.TransIT®-mRNA Transfection Kit Features:•Low Cellular Toxicity - Maintain cell density and reduce experimental biases.•High Efficiency Delivery - Achieve RNA delivery in a large population of cells to ensure experimental success.•Serum Compatible - Perform transfections in the presence of serum which eliminates the need for a media change and maintains cellular health.•Deliver Various Sizes of RNA - Ideal for specialized applications, such as viral production and protein expression from mRNA.
