Fungal Assessment by Culture and RT-PCR Assay in a Waste Sorting Plant

18 Jan 2018

In the management of solid waste, pollutants over a wide range are released with different routes of exposure for workers which carries potential adverse health effects. In this study, molecular real-time polymerase chain reaction was used to assess the presence of three potential pathogenic/toxigenic fungal species collected with the Coriolis®µ air sampler.

Coriolis µ - Air Sampler

Bertin Technologies

The Coriolis Micro portable biological air sampler is a standard for testing air quality. Both indoors and outdoors, it’s the most efficient biological air sampler: It can take just 10 minutes to collect airborne particles using its cyclonic technology paired with a high suction rate. By generating samples in the fluid phase, Coriolis µ is compatible with rapid microbiological analysis methods.
