Detection of Genetically Modified Organisms in Food and Feed

26 Nov 2014

In this application note, the Restch GRINDOMIX GM 200 is used to efficiently homogenize hard and oil grains. The homogeneous sample is then submitted for DNA extraction to recover the genetic material required for genetically modified organism detection.

Shakers, Stirrers and MixersShakers, stirrers and mixers are used for mixing liquids and solids for laboratory applications. There is a wide range of laboratory mixing equipment available, including magnetic stirrers, orbital shakers, linear shakers, microplate shakers, 3D gyratory rockers, rotators & vortexers. Additional platforms and clamps can also be attached to shakers to increase capacity. Find the best shakers, stirrers and mixers in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Homogenizers and BlendersHomogenizers and blenders are used to homogenize various types of material, including tissue, cells, plants, food, soil, biological and chemical samples for subsequent analysis. Lab equipment for sample homogenization includes handheld and benchtop homogenizers, bead mill, ultrasonic and multiple sample homogenizers, high shear homogenizers and blenders. Homogenizer bead and probe multipacks are available to avoid cross contamination of samples, as well as cooling systems for homogenizing temperature-sensitive samples. Homogenizers are often used in the first step of extraction of DNA, RNA and proteins from tissue and cell samples. Find the best homogenizers and blenders in our peer-reviewed product directory: compare products, check customer reviews and receive pricing direct from manufacturers.Sample HomogenizerSample ProcessingSample processing is required to prepare samples prior to analysis. Technologies used for sample processing include homogenizers, grinders, mills and mixers.
