Carbon and nitrogen determination in liquid fertilizers with CN802 carbon and nitrogen analyzer

In this application note, VELP Scientifica describes an elemental analysis process for liquid fertilizers. The analysis involves a combustion furnace (CF) to burn the sample and obtain elemental compounds. Water is removed through physical and chemical traps, and elemental substances pass through a reduction furnace (RF). VELP's exclusive Non-Dispersive Infrared NDIR Detector accurately measures CO₂ concentration, converted into carbon quantity. Auto-regenerative CO₂ absorbers allow only elemental nitrogen to pass, detected by the LoGas^™ Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD) without needing a reference gas. This analysis is crucial for maintaining expected yields and ensuring a healthy crop in agriculture, especially considering the advantages of liquid fertilizers over traditional granular ones.
