"The bulk resin is mostly very stable and effective in its separation range as given from Tosoh Bioscience. It screens the right molecular weight range, which I also may enhance by coupling to columns filled with a different resin. Good product for research applications in water analysis."

Bulk-resin: Polymer like in TSK HW75S, but only 30um spheres in diameter please

"Even though the bulk resin is an older product, where also Tosoh had from time to time difficulties in manufacturing, they always give a helping hand when it comes to scientific questions about it. The prices are quite stable, even now in this more critical times. The supplier also recommends the corresponding analytical columns to perform HPLC- analysis, similar to my SEC-OCD-OND-analytics, with the right dimensions and sensitivity."
TOYOPEARL HW-50S resin has a 12.5 nm pore size and a 30 µm bead size. Surface hydroxyl groups render this resin very hydrophilic, therefore minimal non-specific adsorption occurs, making the TOYOPEARL HW-50S resin useful for protein separations of biomolecules between 500 and 80,000 Da in size.
The good mechanical stability of the TOYOPEARL HW-50S resin produces excellent flow characteristics in large industrial size columns (up to 0.3 MPa). TOYOPEARL HW-50S resin is chemically stable from pH 2-14, and it is this stability that allows a constant packing volume over a wide range of salt concentrations and cleaning in place (CIP) with acid or base. Also, this resin can be run at elevated temperatures (4 - 60 °C) and is autoclavable at 121 °C.
If lower resolution is needed, the larger particle TOYOPEARL HW-50F resin can also be used for process SEC.
