The extraction of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) from murine samples is a standard practice for many biological applications. In this application note, Bertin Instruments presents a comparison of the DNA and RNA extractions obtained with samples that were homogenized with the Precellys 24 and the new Precellys 24 Touch. In this study, protein precipitation and bioactive lipid extraction from rat skin tissues is reported. The combination Solid Phase Extraction and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LCMS/MS) approach was used to measure concentrations of lipid mediators in these tissues.
