I had used several different types of lysing kits. By testing, I optimized the conditions to use these kits for different conditions, mouse skin tissues of being old and young, wounded and normal. These applications turned all successful in downstream protein/RNA analysis.

Protein/ RNA Analysis
The Precellys products are good tools for protein and RNA isolation from mouse and human tissues. The lysing kits are easy to use and give reproducible tissue homogenates suitable for protein and RNA extraction. The RNA is of suitable quality for qPCR and phospho proteins stay intact for Western blot applications. The lysing kits are quite expensive, but worth their money.

Dedicated to sample preparation for Precellys tissue homogenizers, Precellys lysing kits are made of ceramic, glass, stainless steel or garnet, and are fabricated from high-quality materials and Dnase/Rnase free certification.
With the different tube sizes available (0.3, 0.5, 2, 7 and 15 ml) pre-filled with specific beads, a large range of biological samples can be grinded, homogenized or lysed: from animal, human and plant tissues such as brains, leaves and heart, to fragile microorganisms like cells, bacterias and spores. Even challenging samples requiring ultimate strength such as hair and bones can be grinded without any problem.
DNA human identification from bone fragments using the Precellys 24 Touch
Bone fragment is the most common sample used for DNA human identification from carbonized bodies or corpses, where other organic material is lacking. The extraction of nucleic acids (DNA and RNA) from murine samples is a standard practice for many biological applications. Precipitation of Proteins and Lipid Extraction From Homogenized Rat Skin Tissue
In this study, protein precipitation and bioactive lipid extraction from rat skin tissues is reported. The combination Solid Phase Extraction and liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LCMS/MS) approach was used to measure concentrations of lipid mediators in these tissues. Rat skin tissues were homogenized using CKMix50_7mL Precellys® Lysing Kit and Precellys® Evolution tissue homogenizer combined with Cryolys® cooling unit. In addition, temperatures of homogenates were measured to investigate if temperature of complete homogenate of rat skin tissues remained below 40°C.
Total RNA Extraction from Mouse Kidney Before RNA Sequencing
Gene expression levels in an organ are only reliably estimated if extraction is performed from the whole organ (as smaller parts may not be representative of the whole organ).
