Application Area: Measurement of Oxygen consumption rate to assess mitochondrial function
"Unmatched results for measuring Oxygen consumption in real time with the addition of substrates and inhibitors. The device offers the ability to test intact cells, permeabilized cells and isolated mitochondria. It is an advanced Clark electrode inside chambers that can maintain set temperature and pressure during tests. Connected to a software that offers detailed analysis and guides the user through steps to conduct various experiments. The O2k respirometer is an open system that does not require kits or reagents and allows the user to design their experiments as they need. The calibration, cleaning and maintenance steps are time consuming but are worth the effort for results that are unique and provide a deep analysis of the electron transport system of the sample."

"It is a good tool for measuring mitochondrial activity and for selecting the different points of ATP production. The sensor is very sensitive which does make it very precise. The majority of the time it does work fine, but it is very sensitive to vibrations."
