All the students in the lab love it!!
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area: Kinetics and quantification of small biomolecules, proteins and aptamers

"Implen N80 is a very handy spectrophotometer. It's reliable, standalone, with a friendly and logical interface human-machine that works even unplugged to the electric power thanks to the batteries. There's no need to dilute high concentrated samples as the analysis by the nanodrop compartment can adjust the path length. It's also possible to conduct experiments inside a cuvette even at 37ºC. Data can be exported wirelessly or by using a flash drive. Amazing!! I liked it so much that I'm considering to buy a second one."

Best small volume spec on the market
Rating: 5.0

  • Application Area:Protein/nucleic acid quantitation

"The Implen NanoPhotometer N50 is extremely easy to use (intuitive menus and settings), accurate, and genuinely capable of measuring very small volumes repeatably. The touch screen works well even with gloves. Window configurations are adaptable so you can customize the information you're looking at while working. The instrument is light and mobile, and since it's all-in-one, you can literally move it to where you're working as needed. It's not stuck in a particular corner of the lab. In my opinion, it's the best nano-scale measurement device on the market for routine lab sample quantification and spectral reading."

Great for nucleic acids; proteins, another story
Rating: 4.7

  • Application Area:RNA/DNA/Protein

"Pros: Small footprint/no computer. easy to use and transfer data/very user-friendly DNA/RNA readings are accurate Small volume, cuvette-free Easy clean-up and maintenance Cons: We have had difficulty with accurate readings for BCA assays, despite the claim that this machine can do them. We ere told by implen that this was a software problem, but we are still waiting to receive the software update"

The power and precision of standard spectroscopy and microvolume combined with the convenience of a lightweight portable instrument with a built-in 7” LCD glove compatible touchscreen and flexible unit control options. Illuminated quartz sample surfaces allow for easy sample application.  It’s time you expected more out of your spectrophotometer.

Integrated computer with high performance quad core processor.  Intuitive user interface for streamline workflow.  The unit is equipped with Wi-Fi, built-In HotSpot, LAN, HDMI and USB A/B interface connections for remote instrument control, data accessibility and printing.

Implen’s True Path Technology™ delivers accuracy you can trust.  The extensive dynamic range with two precisely defined path lengths eliminates pathlength drift.  The only spectrophotometer on the market with a sealed mechanical setup; the NanoPhotometer® has two fixed anchor points that are not changing over the lifetime of the instrument.  Scratch resistant 100% quartz sample surfaces remove the need for reconditioning.  No reconditioning, no recalibration, no maintenance necessary, Implen guarantees lifetime accuracy providing peace of mind for our researchers!

Performance Features:

  • Micro-volume capability starting with only 0.3µl of sample volume
  • Scanning range 200 to 650 nm in 6 seconds
  • Maintenance Free: No reconditioning and no recalibration ever
  • Reading quality check with Blank Control™
  • Ideal for nucleic acids, protein and samples in most organic solvents
  • Sample Control™ quality control technology to identify air bubbles, sample impurities, turbidity, lint residues and potential contaminations
  • Allows kinetic studies in a drop
  • Flexible unit control (from computer, smart phone and tablet)
  • Compatible with Apple, Android and Windows devices
  • 32GB onboard memory
  • Footprint 20x20x12 cm (smallest instrument of its kind)
  • Language functionality

Applications:

  • Nucleic Acids: provides one-step easy analysis of dsDNA, ssDNA, RNA, and Oligonucleotides. In this method it is also possible to determine frequency of dye incorporation for dye conjugated nucleic acids. Choose from pre-programmed dye labels or create custom dye methods.
  • Proteins: protein quantification using direct A280 measurements, select from pre-programmed dye labels as well as create custom dye methods to determine degree of labeling of dye conjugated proteins
  • Protein Assays: quantify proteins using colorimetric assays including the BCA, Bradford, Lowry, and Biuret assays
  • Kinetics: measurement of change in absorbance as a function of time at fixed wavelength, application available in the heated cuvette port as well as for microvolume measurements
  • OD600: used to determine the absorbance at 600 nm
  • Wavelength: measurement of simple absorbance (Abs) or transmission (%T) at a single user defined wavelength
  • Wavescan: records the absorption (Abs) or transmission (%T) spectrum for the range between two user defined wavelengths
  • Absorbance Ratio: measure the ratio between two user defined wavelengths
  • Concentration: determines the concentration of samples from a single wavelength absorbance reading
  • Standard Curve: preparation of a multi-point calibration curve from standards of known concentration to quantify unknown samples is a fundamental use of a spectrophotometer; the NanoPhotomer® has the advantage of being able to store this curve as a method to be recalled for future experiments
  • Custom Applications: fully customizable application development is possible with the proprietary NanoPhotometer® Operating System. Please contact Implen team for more information about custom app design
