Good analyzer with a good fit for a small to mid-sized laboratory.
Rating: 3.7

  • Application Area: general chemistry

"Optimal general chemistry analyzer for a small to mid-sized laboratory. The platform has a relatively small footprint and is self contained. Being a wet system, the calibration has an average stability which leads to frequent calibrations and high accuracy. The electrolyte module is sensitive with calibration needed every four hours. The manufacturer provided electrodes are not high quality but they do work, some times requiring replacement electrodes which are very expensive. If a third vendor, such as McKesson, is used to purchase consumables then the cost is extremely high. If the consumables can be purchased direct from the manufacturer then the cost is very competitive to other platforms. Service and support is excellent. Excellent performance on proficiency testing events."

Envoy has served us well.
Rating: 4.0

  • Application Area:General chemistries, crp

"I like the Envoy500. It's faster than our old analyzer. One issue I have is with ISE's. Occasionally I have to repeat the calibration several times. Even though I wash them before every use. Also I find I am leery of the cholesterol results lately. There seems to be quite a few low ones. I do compare to the patient's previous and will repeat ones I am unsure of. Other than that it has served us well the years we have had it."

Decent analyzer. I have ran several analyzers that are less needy.
Rating: 3.0

  • Application Area:Analyze metabolites in patient blood samples

"I feel that the analyzer is not as reliable as many other analyzers that I have ran and is very needy. You have to constantly be standing over the analyzer to replace reagents, to rerun patients, to change the waste and also they do not have a tech support that comes to the site to do a yearly PM or to fix any part of the analyzer. We as patient care techs have to work on the analyzer like we went to school to work on analyzers instead of taking care of patients."

Manufacturer's Response

ELITechGroup appreciates the feedback. Please know that annual PM’s and onsite service are included with an annual service contract. Please reach out to Technical Support at 855-ELITECH for troubleshooting and to schedule your annual PM, if not already done.

Great product, great price. User friendly and helps provide better patient care.
Rating: 5.0

Does many tests not available on other systems. Support tech team is very friendly and knowledgable with it's fast response time. Short downtime if any. Customer service is always friendly and attentive to our needs. Distributor sales rep is always available and quick to help. Fast and accurate results."

ISE nightmare!!!!
Rating: 3.0

  • Application Area:3 doctor physicians office

"The Envoy 500 is a good instrument if not running ISE electrolytes. ISE's are a living nightmare on this instrument. Either you get standardization and controls are out or it will not standardize at all. All other tests work great on the Envoy. Customer service is knowledgeable of the machine and in how to walk you through trouble shooting. Elitech should take another look at how the ISE works on the instrument. If not for the ISE issue this would be a great instrument."

When it works...it works!
Rating: 3.3

  • Application Area:Analyze metabolites in plasma samples

"It depends on the day! Some days the Envoy 500+ runs very smooth, while other days are not so smooth. The standards can be frustrating at times if they don't standardize. Most days I feel like I know what to do if something is not functioning properly but if not technical support is fantastic. I can call anyone in technical support and they're very knowledgeable of the analyzer."

Great work horse for a low to moderate volume physician office
Rating: 4.3

  • Application Area:This workhorse reports up to 30 panels daily. CMP, Lipid

"Easy to use, and user friendly Operator Manual. Performs dilutions and calculations. Reproducibility is good and reagent stability on most assays is 28 days. When needed- technical support is always knowledgeable and helpful, including following up post service call. We have not had the need very often to have field service do a repair-however on the few occasions excluding required yearly PM's, they have been very timely and able to resolve any issue the same day."

Very expensive instrument to use, but provides good results.
Rating: 2.7

  • Application Area:analyze analytes

"The analyzer is relatively easy to use. The reproducibility is good so long as it is watched carefully and closely as the calibrations don't seem to be very stable, as evident by the manufacturers requirements to re calibrate every time a new reagent is put on regardless if it is the same lot. The electrolyte module is good but difficult when it requires repair such as tubing changes and electrode changes. The cost is not good at all, reagents are very expensive as well as consumables."

Love the ease of it!!
Rating: 4.0

  • Application Area:Family Medicine Lab

"The training we received prior to working on the Envoy and the customer service the whole time we have had the Envoy have been beyond great. Any time we have a question or problem they are able to answer it fairly quickly. Running multiple samples at the same time is great, we are able to get results out to our providers so much quicker now. It means the world to our patients that are hard to reach when not in clinic, med changes can be made during the same visit. We have taught four other MA's how to use the Envoy, the basics of how to run a sample and what results to report are very easy. Only the original two of us do any maintenance."

"The machine was already purchased when I took over but i was extremely unhappy with it. It never worked 100%, even though PM was done, it took forever to run a sample. Some of the controls would never come in because the instrument wouldn't read the reagent bottles. It was just a mess."

Easy to use and the service is fantastic.
Rating: 4.7

  • Application Area:Chemistry Analysis

"The Envoy 500 is very easy to use and is an asset within our family practice. We run a wide variety of chemistries in the laboratory and the Envoy 500 instrument is efficient, plus I can get results quickly for our critical patients. That helps our physicians greatly. Every time I have questions the technical service team is professional and knowledgeable and I usually have the issue resolved immediately. The only issue I have is the cost of the electrodes and how often they need to be changed. Besides that, Elitech makes a great instrument which we will continue to use for a long time. "

Unreliable machine particularly the ISE
Rating: 2.7

  • Application Area:primary care doctors office

"We have had several problems with the machine. Several of the parts have been replaced and still we continue to have problems particularly with the ISE. We rarely have two weeks in a row where the machine will run properly and give us reliable results. The service department is great in helping us resolve our problems. It would be great if I weren't on a first name basis with the service department. Alice and Todd are great."

"The Envoy is easy to use as long as you do your maintenance. I have not been entirely happy with the new reagents that ELITech has brought into play. The only downside is, once again, and ISE for electrolyte studies. If we are going to have issues, it is invariably on the ISE side of things."

"I have had my Envoy 500 for almost six years. I have found that the instrument is accurate and fast. I work in a POL and function as a stat lab for my providers. The instrument is relatively maintenance free. As long as I do the monthlys and take care of those ISEs then it keeps on running smoothly. The reagents are undergoing some changes at the present which I will have to evaluate as I put them onboard. The calibrations curves are extremely stable. I liked the option of using lithium heparin plasma on the analyzer but the new Calcium reagent can only use serum. This does increase my turnaround times as I now have to let the specimens clot before centrifuging and I have several patients on Warfarin. Over all I have been pleased with the analyzer and have an average service call about once every two years, not including the yearly PM."

"I would give the envoy a 5 star rating. I have had it for more than six years now and myself and physicians love it. It serves our needs greatly. I have been able to teach a few nurses to use it also and they like it too. It isn't complicated to run and it’s a little workhorse. I am extremely satisfied with the service. The girls are very knowledgeable and quick to respond. Field engineers are awesome and prompt. They work over the phone with me, also, to try and keep me running until they get here. My only complaint is that they changed PMS to once a year and I feel it should be at least every nine months. It is worth every dollar we purchased it for."

"The Envoy 500 is easy to operate with the ability to walk away from instrument when in operation. The electrodes of the ISE Module are fairly easy to change when following instructions and exercising patience while the module stabilizes. The customer service and Tech Support team are great-- they answer questions promptly and give you a check-up call to make sure issue has been resolved. Review date: 19 Mar 2014 | Envoy 500+ Chemistry System

The Envoy 500+ by ELITech performs approximately 500 tests per hour, allowing it to handle the workload of the busiest labs.

The Envoy 500+ delivers the time and money saving features your lab requires with an integrated four-parameter Dry ISE module, reusable glass cuvettes, positive sample and reagent identification, clot detection, liquid level sensing and many more. Plus, the Envoy 500+ is backed by the best service and support in the industry.

Features:

Software

  • Touch Screen
The Envoy® 500+ has a built-in LCD touch screen and is driven by the Windows®  operating system. This provides greater ease of use and space savings by eliminating a bulky external monitor and CPU.
  • Quality Control
Quality Control results are stored in memory and easily displayed on the screen. QC can be evaluated using up to six Westgard rules and displayed with either the theoretical or calculated means.
  • Pre-Programmed Parameters
The Envoy reagent application parameters are pre-loaded into the software, saving you time and eliminating the possibility of data entry mistakes.

Reagent Handling

  • Large Capacity
The Envoy 500+  holds up to 40 individual Envoy reagents (mono or dual), providing a longer walk-away operation.
  • Refrigerated Reagent Tray
Onboard refrigeration and storage ensures reagent stability, which increases reliability of results, while lowering laboratory costs.
  • Continuous Inventory Monitoring
Continuous inventory monitoring enables the operator to know the number of tests remaining for each reagent, minimizing waste.
  • Positive Reagent Identification
The reagent chamber contains an infrared barcode scanner capable of scanning Envoy barcoded reagents, automatically recognizing reagent position and lot information.

Sample Handling

  • Sample Wheel
The Envoy 500+  sample wheel has 52 positions available for patient samples and 26 for calibrators and controls providing your laboratory high throughput capability. Primary tubes or sample cups can be used, providing the testing flexibility you need.
  • Clot Detection and Liquid Level Sensing
Clot detection and Liquid level sensing prevents reporting of invalid results from an insufficient or difficult sample. This ensures accurate results and proper treatment decisions.
  • Positive Sample Identification
The sample chamber contains an infared barcode scanner, capable of scanning your patient barcodes, eliminating the need to manually enter patient information and reducing the risk of sample errors that can cost you time and money.

Dry ISE

  • Dry Electrodes
The Envoy 500+  utilizes a proven, dry, solid-state ISE (Ion Selective Electrode) that doesn’t need to be kept wet, reducing reagent consumption.
  • Four Parameters
The ISE system has four electrodes, Na+, K+, Cl- and CO2, providing a complete test panel without adding an enzymatic procedure or using a traditional ‘wet’ electrode. This significantly reduces costs and maintenance time, while increasing reliability of results.

Reaction Cuvettes

  • Glass Cuvettes
The Envoy 500+ contains 34 reusable glass cuvettes that are automatically washed on board, which eliminates the cost of expensive disposable cuvettes.
  • Increased Walk-away Time
The reusable glass cuvettes also provide your lab longer walk-away time than a system using disposable cuvettes, which requires you to return to the instrument to reload cuvettes on a regular basis.
