Works with reservations.
Application Area:Lab use
"Product works well but there are a few problems. Initially we bought the Mini Cube because it was low priced but we were not aware that there were hidden costs such as the printer, the scanner, and the transponder. Also the QC doesn't work often. Pathologists are upset that level 1 isn't anywhere near claimed and level 2 is hit or miss. Run it once and get below limits, run it again and its above limits. When the power goes off here (which it does frequently) the instrument resets to the year 2027 so if not noticed the QC has to be entered by hand as the date wasn't changed for a few days. We also have problems with samples with labels from the ER. Have hit or miss problems with pedi samples as well."

Very good instrument.
Application Area:Instrument for ESR
"This ESR instrument is compact, easy to use, and uses the primary tube for testing. Tests are purchased on a "card". QC is not counted as a test. If we have an instrument issue, a new one is sent and the test code is reloaded."

Very easy to use.
Application Area:Lab - hematology - sed rate
"The analyzer is very easy to use. You use the primary tube that the sample was collected in so there is no transfer. The correlations were fair as well as reproducible. I did not like the comparisons for the pediatric tubes."

Easy to Set Up, Easy to Use, No Wasted Sample.
Application Area:Clinical Laboratory
"We were looking for a better method to measure Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rates for our neonate and pediatric population. Around the same time, a Streck representative reached out to let me know about a new product they were introducing - the Mini-Cube. We scheduled a demo and right away I could see that it fit our needs. You only need 500uL of whole blood, using a microtainer, and it measures the ESR in the original collection container without using any of the actual sample, so you can remix it and use it for a CBC afterwards. It does a good job with standard sized vacutainers as well. After delivery, the Streck team reached out to go through the set up process over the phone, which was pretty easy. They offered great customer service and even helped with correlation to our old method. I definitely recommend this little analyzer if you're looking for something to replace the old-fashioned Westergren method. Oh, and it can interface to an LIS, too."
The Diesse MINI-CUBE is an automated instrument for erythrocyte sedimentation rate testing directly from EDTA tubes without consuming the patient sample. The MINI-CUBE automated sed-rate instrument provides greater than 95% correlation to the modified Westergren method and is compatible with standard 13 x 75 mm K2EDTA and K3EDTA tubes (2.0-4.0 mL) and pediatric (500 µL) BD Microtainer EDTA tubes. The compact ESR analyzer requires no reagents, eliminating operator exposure to patient samples. The MINI-CUBE offers random access sample loading, bar code scanning, a Bluetooth printer, automatic archive of QC and patient data, and LIS compatibility. The Quality Control feature eliminates the need to manually record daily runs, and statistical reports are generated with the following features: Levey Jennings charts, standard deviation, CV%, mean, and highest and lowest result.
Available for distribution through Streck in Canada, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway and the United States of America, excluding the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
