The Xevo is fit for purpose for biosimilar characterization.
Monoclonal antibody top down characterization
The instument uses and process via Unifi database. Unifi is a very useful and rosbust database system that it is 21 CFR part 11 compliant. Although the instrument is fit to the purpose for biosimilar characterization, but analysis techniques are limited. Glycan analysis is driven by UPLC-FLR, not by mass spectrometry.

Harmonize your biopharmaceutical (LC/MS) workflows
In this infographic, Waters introduces its Xevo™ G3 QTof System, an analytical workhorse for the detailed characterization of biomolecules and processes.
High sensitivity analysis of potential mutagenic boronic acids using Xevo TQ Absolute Tandem Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer with an ACQUITY premier system
Boronic acids and their esters are common reagents used in the synthesis of organic compounds. Several boronic acids have been identified as potential mutagens and should be controlled at low levels using sensitive methods. In this application note, Waters describes an Ultra Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) method with tandem quadrupole mass spectrometer for high sensitivity quantification of seven boronic acids with mutagenic potential.
Applying peptide mapping and Multi-Attribute Method (MAM) Workflow for biosimilar mAb drug products comparison on the Xevo G3 QTof Platform
In this application note, Waters demonstrates how the app-based compliance-ready waters_connect™ informatics platform can be used with the Xevo™ G3 QTof for biosimilar mAb characterization and monitoring.
Comprehensive biosimilar comparability assessment via intact and subunit RP-MS and IEX-UV-MS using the Xevo G3 QTof system
In this application note, Waters demonstrates the use of Xevo™ G3 QTof platform to perform a comparability analysis for infliximab innovator Remicade® and three biosimilars (Inflectra®, Avsola®, and Renflexis®).
Waters' Solutions to Peptide and Protein Bioanalysis
The ability to analyze peptides and proteins is becoming increasingly important in the field of biotheraputics. This infographic explains why quantifying large molecules is challenging and how Waters can provide solutions.
Highly Sensitive Analysis of Polar Pesticides in Food Matrices on the Xevo TQ-XS
This application note describes a sensitive LC-MS/MS quantification method for the robust analysis of highly polar pesticides in food commodities without the need of derivatization. Using the ACQUITY UPLC System coupled to the Xevo TQ-XS Triple Quadrupole Mass Spectrometer, they achieved sub-parts per billion detection (ppb) limits for glyphosate, glufosinate and aminomethylphosphonic acid (AMPA). The sensitivity of the Xevo TQ-XS promises excellent limits of detection, suitable for monitoring maximum residue limit (MRL) compliance for these challenging analytes and good quantitative performance, in terms of precision and calibration characteristics in compliance with SANTE 11954/2015 guidelines.
Multi-Residue Pesticide Analysis in Tea: Optimized Cleanup After QuEChERS Extraction for UPLC-MS/MS and GC-MS/MS Analysis
This application note presents QuEChERS extraction and SPE-based cleanup strategies for multi-residue pesticide analysis of dried teas. The tea sample is first equilibrated with water before extraction using the DisQuE pouch for CEN QuEChERS. Then, three aliquots are taken for further analysis.
Mass Spectrometry for Polymers
In this white paper, the benefits and analytical considerations for MS analysis of polymers is considered. The benefit of mass spectrometry is the ability to make absolute mass measurements at a molecular level rather than an average across a whole sample, making mixtures easier to deal with. Dual-stage mass spectrometry (MS/MS) can provide detailed structural information about the repeat unit chemistry, end groups and backbone connectivity with both detail and confidence.
Multiresidue LC-MS/MS Screening of Veterinary Drugs in Milk Using the Ostro Pass-through Sample Preparation Plate
This application note describes the use of the Ostro Plate for multi-residue screening for veterinary drugs in milk. Using this plate, milk samples are prepared using a few simple steps to effectively precipitate protein and remove potential interferences.
Analysis of Serum 17-Hydroxyprogesterone, Androstenedione, and Cortisol by UPLC-MS/MS for Clinical Research
Measurement of 17-hydroxyprogesterone (17-OHP) by immunoassay is prone to analytical interference arising from cross-reactivity of reagent antibodies with structurally-related steroid metabolites. In this application note, a method for the extraction and UPLC®-MS/MS analysis of serum 17-OHP and two additional adrenal steroids, androstenedione (A4) and cortisol, using the ACQUITY UPLC System with the Xevo TQ MS is described.
RADAR Understanding Sample Complexity and Improving Quantitative Data Quality
To maintain high quality reproducible data, RADAR™ was introduced on the Xevo® TQ MS instruments. This white paper describes how RADAR mode makes it possible to monitor matrix interferences, metabolites, impurities and degradants in a sample while accurately quantifying target compounds without losing sensitivity or performance. Understanding the matrix of individual samples and monitoring changes in matrix across different samples will lead to continuous improvement of quality of the services provided by the laboratory.
