Vivaspin® Turbo
Classical concentration and buffer exchange methods are labor intensive, generate excessive waste and suffer from sample loss and long process times. It can also be difficult to retrieve retentate samples from centrifugal ultrafilters when using standard pipette tips. To overcome these challenges, Sartorius has developed Vivaspin® Turbo - the ultimate range of centrifugal ultrafilters. These feature highly optimized designs an…
Innovative and high quality concentrator device.
Concentration of Urines for Sebia Capillary Electrophoresis
The Vivaspin from Sartorius perform high quality concentration of urine samples for the quantitation of proteins using Sebia Capillary Electrophoresis. The tubes are made of high quality plastics with screw lids which stay sealed during centrifugation. They have an innovative design which allows for the capture of microparticles beyond other concentrators. They are easy to decant and easy to read. Customer service from the company and sales is very responsive and knowledgeable.

Good protein recovery for proteins larger than the molecular weight cut off.
Concentrate protein solutions, and remove low molecular weight species
Works well to concentrate a protein with a molecular weight above the cut off. Little sample loss even if cutoff is close to the molecular weight. Quite efficient at removing low molecular weight contaminants. Not very good at filtering through the species that have a molecular weight lower than the cut off. They seem to get stuck in the filter. It would be nice if there was a product that could act to specifically allow the lower molecular weight species to flow through as much as possible.

Excellent underrated protein concentrator
Great value! Better than Millipore in recovery.
These are excellent products, underrated compared to their competitors as they do not have the market penetration. Definitely recommended!

COVID-19 vaccine research challenges and solutions
Accounting for at least 15% of all human pathogens, emerging infectious diseases (EID) pose a significant burden on public health. Vaccination represents one of the most successful prophylactic tools for disease prevention and control, however, the development process is typically lengthy and expensive. While there has been a rapid development of multiple safe and highly effective vaccines in response to the current COVID-19 pandemic, there are still many challenges to overcome. This application note will explore the common challenges of vaccine development and the solutions available to overcome them.
Efficient sampling procedures for SARS-CoV-2 in air and wastewater
The novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) outbreak has created an urgent need to develop and optimize methods to sample the virus both in aerosols, its primary transmission route, as well as in wastewater, a surveillance method to track and manage infections. As such, reliable air and water monitoring protocols are crucial in accurately detecting COVID-19 and managing the dynamics of the pandemic.
In this free eBook, we provide a compendium of methods to collect viruses from air and water samples, concentrate viral proteins, and optimize sample preparation for PCR-based COVID-19 detection. Download now to explore content including:

Insightful solutions for biologics drug discovery with a focus on monoclonal antibodies
Therapeutic antibodies have recently emerged as one of the most successful strategies for the treatment of both hematologic cancers and solid tumors. As they offer the promise of better specificity and safety than many other cancer treatments, this class of biologics is projected to continue increasing in performance. In this application note, Sartorius highlights its innovative technologies and solutions to ensure quality results at every stage of your biologics discovery and development workflow.
Lab ultrafiltration tips and tricks
The use of ultrafiltration membranes for concentration and purificationof proteins and DNA is ubiquitous in biological laboratories. Filter devices with ultrafiltration membranes can also be used for concentration of other macromolecules such as inorganic polymers, nanoparticles or even viruses. Although performing sample concentration and buffer exchange using an ultrafiltration device is relatively simple, some tricks of the trade can improve your recovery or speed up your work flow considerably.
