Application Area:

Analyzing hematology samples

We've had the SN-550 a little over a year. It is by far the easiest and most efficient instrument I have worked with. It requires very little maintenance. Granted it's still fairly new, but never had a service call. The QC package is great. It has user-defined rules, which makes it nice for setting guidelines to follow for the staff working area.

The XN-550 features an automated sampler and so improves workflow productivity with its Rerun & Reflex functionality and continuous loading feature.

This model also has an integrated IPU and is operated via a compact LCD color touchscreen. XN-550 incorporates the proven Sysmex technologies of fluorescence flow cytometry, hydrodynamic focusing and our cyanide-free SLS method for determining hemoglobin. Ready for the future, it can be upgraded by adding new clinical and productivity values, or by opting for further professional services and connecting to our Extended IPU as your demands change.

Features:

  • Compact 5-part differential analyzer with fully integrated IPU and compact LCD color touchscreen
  • Increased workflow productivity with automated sampler analysis
  • Rerun & Reflex functionality and continuous loading
  • 25 µL aspiration volume in whole blood mode
  • Scalable system, optional values and services available

Laboratory Investigation of Hemolysis

Hemolysis is the premature breakdown of red blood cells (RBC). This can occur either within macrophages of the reticuloendothelial system (RES), or within the blood vessels. This application note provides an overview of the methods of detecting hemolysis, and explains the impact of artefactual hemolysis caused by poor blood collection and sample handling.
